Ten Meitorious Deeds

1. Charity
2. Morality
3. Mental Culture
4. Reverence or Respect
5. Service in helping others
6. Sharing merits with others
7. Rejoicing in the merits of others
8. Preaching and teaching the Dhamma
9. Listening to the Dhamma
10. Straightening one's views

The performance of these ten meritorious deeds will not only benefit oneself, but others as well, besdies giving benefits to the recipients.


Moral Conduct benefit all beings with whom on ecomes into contact.
Mental culture brings peace to others and inspires them to practise the Dhamma.
Reverence gives rise to harmony in society.
Service improves the lives of others.
Sharing merits with others shows that one is concerned about others' welfare.
Rejoicing in others' merits encourages others to perform more merits.
Teaching & Listening the Dhamma are important factors for HAPPINESS for both the teacher and the listenener, while encouraging both to live in line with Dhmma.
Straightening one's views enables a person to show others the beauty of Dhamma.


In the Dhammapada, the Buddha taught:

' Should a person perform good,
He should do it again and again;
He should find pleasure in them;
For blissful is the accumulation of good. '


' Think not lightly of good, saying,
'It will not come near to me'
Even by the falling of drops a water-far is filled.
Like wise the wise man, gathering little by little,
Fills himself with good. '


P.S: I came across this and I think it is good for all others. Remember, the purpose in our life is to give happiness to oneself and others through the dhamma. :) I literally typed everything out from that book that Shixiong had given me. Please really do read it. Get enlightened by it alright =D

1000 years later, our bond would still remain unchanged; our heart will still beat as one..

We wholeheartedly take refuge in the Buddha and respect the Buddha as our teacher.
We wholeheartedly take refuge in the Dharma and pratice the Noble teaching
We whole heartedly take refuge in the Sangha and accept the guidance of the Sangha
We pledge to cultivate kindenss, to keep right speech and to do good deeds
With the blessing of the Triple Gem,
May our wisdom grow for the betterment of our conduct and study.
May our deeds be filled with loving kindness and compassion
May all beings attain the State of Calmness,Peace, Prosperity and Happiness.
Sadhu, Sadhu, Sadhu.
